Dental Implants are the State of the Art, and in most cases the Standard of Care in tooth replacement. They represent unparalled Quality and Value for our patients. Please refer to the Implants tab, as well as the Implant videos under the Video Tab.
Why do we place implants
We are born with 32 adult teeth for a reason. Excluding 3rd molars, wisdom teeth, the remaining 28 teeth each serve specific functions and having all of them provide you with the best function possible. Historically, the best dentistry could offer first were dentures and partial dentures, removable prosthetics which at best were moderately comfortable but chewing capacity was, and still is, greatly diminished. Fixed bridgework then arrived where 2 or more teeth adjacent to the missing tooth space were ground down and a 1 piece unit spanning the empty space would be fabricated and cemented/glued in place. Both these treatment modalities are used today. In the 1960's dental implants were first placed , primarily to retain dentures and then eventually they evolved to the point where they replace missing teeth, without grinding down any healthy teeth. Placement of Dental Implants help preserve function, stabilize the jaw and prevent otherwise healthy teeth from being unnecessarily drilled down.
